At Bid And Deliver, we want you to be sure of how the whole process works. That's why we have compiled a list of customers' frequently asked questions so you can be completely sure how things work when you're connecting with item listers or transport Providers.


1) How to register on Bid And Deliver

Registering on Bid and Deliver is a quick and easy process. Select the register button to the top right of the home page that then gives you two options:

A) I am a service provider– This is for couriers and haulers to register and allows for additional company information to be added unlike option b.

B) I am looking to ship something– This is for people who wish to add items onto the website that require shipping.

Select your required choice to continue to the registration page.

Complete all the fields on the page (required fields are highlighted with a red asterix).

Be sure to add your correct e-mail address and phone number so you will receive updates on your item listing when transport providers have made a bid and they will be able to contact you if you accept any bids.

Select create account, you will then receive a notification e-mail that your account has been setup on Bid And Deliver.


2) How to list an item on Bid And Deliver

Listing an item on our website is straightforward, fast and free: You can list any item and at no time are you obligated to accept any bid from a transport provider.

To list an item you first need to register by selecting the register button at the top of the home page and follow the registration process as above in item 1, be sure to add your correct e-mail address and phone number so you will receive updates on your item listing when transport providers have made a bid and they will be able to contact you if you accept any bids.

There are three steps to listing an item,

A) Select the “add your shipment” button at the top of the home page. Select a category and sub-category of the item you wish to transport (e.g. General Goods, Furniture). Complete the drop down sections adding the item description, sizes and weights and any addition information you feel is required to best describe your item.

B) Upload a picture of your item or continue to the next page. If you have another item please select “I have another parcel”which will take you through the previous page again, once you have entered all your items and picturesselect continue to enter your desired pick-up or delivery dates (The first picture you upload will appear on the front page)

C) Enter your desired pick-up and delivery details and select submit shipment to upload to the website (You are required to enter both the town and postcode when entering the pick-up and delivery information to calculate the route as accurate as possible)

If you are listing an eBay item, simply enter the ‘eBay item number’ and the ‘e-bay item sellers name’ and Bid And Deliver will import the photo and descriptions automatically from eBay. Be sure to enter the eBay name of the item seller and not your own E-bay name in the fields to enable the process to upload all the relevant information.

You may select one of four options when choosing your required delivery dates:

A) Today – if you require a same day service, your delivery will be highlighted in bold red text to let couriers know it is urgent.

B) Next Day – if you require your item to be delivered tomorrow.

C) Flexible – if the delivery and pick-up dates are not important.

D) Select Dates – You can enter your earliest and latest pick-up date into the required fields.

Once completed select “submit shipment”, your listing is now live.


3) How do I accept a bid

You can view all bids received on your delivery by clicking on the item in your ‘my account page’. This will take you to the delivery overview page where you will find all bids you have received. Here you will find the option to accept bids.


4) How do I decline a bid

You can view all bids received on your delivery by clicking on the item in your ‘my account page’. This will take you to the delivery overview page where you will find all bids you have received. Here you will find the option to accept or decline bids. Should you decline a bid, a text box will appear for you to enter a reason why you chose to decline the bid. This feature is optional but will help Transport Providers determine whether they should re-bid or not.


5) How do I view my bids

You can view all bids received on your delivery by clicking on the item in your ‘my account page’. This will take you to the delivery overview page where you will find all bids you have received.


6) How do I remove my listing

You can remove your listing by clicking on the item in the active listing section in your ‘my account page’. This will take you to the delivery overview page where you will find a delete button to the right of all your listing. When you have selected remove listing the item will be immediately removed.


7) How do I read my messages

All messages that have been received are visible on the item overview page under the Google map and are visible to all. Only the item lister can respond to messages from a courier however anyone can post a message for the item lister to view and respond to.


8) How do I respond to my messages

To respond to your messages login and go to your ‘my account’ page, select the item in your ‘active listings’ section by clicking on the image and this will take you to your item overview page. Scroll down under the Google map to see all your messages and post a response in the ‘post comment’ field next to your messages.


9) Insurance

Most of Bid And Delivers Transport Providers hold Goods in Transit Insurance of varying levels. Customers can view the transport providers level of insurance on their profile page. It is up to the customer to enquire about insurance levels before accepting a bid.


10) Paying the remaining balance to the transport provider

Having paid the initial Bid And Deliver deposit, the remaining balance is then paid directly to the Transport Provider upon completion of the job. This must be paid through the payment methods and terms specified on the transport providers profile page. The customer does not pay any more than the amount they accepted.


11) Lost or forgotten passwords

If you have forgotten your password just select the forgotten password prompt when on the login page, this will take you through the password reset process when you enter your user name.
